SCMI offers volunteer opportunities during the spring and the fall.
The Southern California Marine Institute Volunteer program is designed to introduce college level students to marine science careers. Volunteers will learn basic operations at SCMI’s marine facility including supporting our Aquarists. We are looking for students interested in marine science, marine biology, and animal husbandry. Students must be 18 years or older to volunteer.
Volunteer duties include:
- Seawater system maintenance
- Animal Husbandry
- Water quality testing
- Marine science education
