Starting in January 2004, SCMI started a data collection program for all demonstration cruises. These cruises usually collect water quality and organisms from inside and outside of Los Angeles Harbor. Water quality (including nutrients), plankton, invertebrates, and fish collected on each cruise is recorded and entered into a database. This information will serve as a valuable resource for detecting trends in physical, chemical, and biological systems in the Los Angeles Harbor area.
